Website Introduction
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I tend to be a "wordy" person often over explaining the simplest of things. A trait that tends to annoy most "get to the point now" people, like my brother. In fact, next to Math, English was my favorite subject. I love to read and I love to write. Insecurities, however, kept me from previously pursuing a writing career.
In 2012, one of my sisters suggested that I try blogging while another sister told me I should write the book they "always thought" I would. I'm not sure why it came as a surprise to me that my family thought I would be a writer when I grew up. It is what I always wanted to be after all.
I decided to start a blog, not only to document what was going on in my journey at the time but also to go back and reflect on previous journals, thoughts, and insights. I started that blog in September of 2012 but by November I "took a break for the holidays" and never went back. Life basically got in the way and, like so many other things, I forgot about my blog.
My desire with that blog was to be able to consolidate and organize my thoughts and to get in the habit of writing again so that one day I could write the book(s) I've wanted to for so long. That desire has not changed. I am simply transferring the purpose of that original blog to my new website, which I started as a result of a writer's conference I attended at the end of 2018.
During the conference I learned the importance of having a "web presence" as an author, especially a new author. My website has many purposes, first and foremost for my potential audience to get to know the "real" me. I will discuss many things on this site including my faith, old journal entries, my struggles with Bipolar II disorder, my journey to an overall healthier me, and possibly stories about my cats. It will be me in a nutshell.
It is my wish that whoever happens across my website and decides to read and/or follow it will be touched and inspired by my words. I welcome any and all comments with regard to my posts as long as they are clean and respectful. I am not here to judge nor to be judged.
There is also a contact page where you can email me directly. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for a response.
Thank you for reading!
